Summer Solstice

Welcoming the Sun, Awakening the Light in Our Hearts and All Our World

The Summer Solstice represents the next step of this divine rhythm. Always occurring at the start of the Cancer Sun Season, the Summer Solstice reminds us to turn inward and find the nourishment needed to grow and evolve. We will gather around the night fire to connect to the solar light and power represented as the fire. We'll focus on the fire to help us expand the light within us, and to release any shadows that cannot go on the journey.

Fire Ceremony to Honor the Light of the Sun and Burn Away the Old

Bring offerings to honor the solar season and the vast power of the light, as well as items to release the old.

Bring offerings to honor the light and to release the old

  • Sunflowers, golden or yellow flowers, paper with written blessings, gold coins, etc.
  • Written stories to release, Old photos (on non-toxic burnable paper), old journal pages
  • Organic items that symbolize blessings or release
    • Sage, palo santo, sacred tobacco or other herbs that purify
    • Seeds that symbolize new life as you let go of the old
    • Cotton rope or twine that is knotted (symbolizing the stuck energies you are sacrificing to the fire)
    • Anything organic to offer the fire for purification and illumination

Drumming at the Fire

Bring a drum or rattle if you have one

We'll drum, rattle, and enjoy the blessings of the light and the fire as we celebrate the expansion of light within and all around.

Bring Items for the Altar to Be Blessed

Stones, crystals, written prayers, candles, family photos, small statues and items of meaning, flowers, etc.

I look forward to seeing you here!

Blessings, Katherine
