This ceremonial ritual will be dedicated to the blessings for each student and the clan of your 2024 Artist Shaman Healer Sage as you go into the world. It will be a time for each student to offer blessings to each tribe mate in the ceremony, and to make an offering to Pachamama for the blessings to bring harmony to our clan and to all of our kin on earth.

A deposit of $500 is required to hold your place in class, with either four monthly payments of $365 beginning April 1, 2024 or five monthly payments of $295, or a one time payment of $1800. If for any reason you don't want to continue in the course at any time during the six-month course, you agree to complete your financial agreement. If for any unseen reason you must drop out (such as due to illness or family crisis, each situation will be dealt with on a one-time basis per student to find the best outcome for all involved). This multi-cultural shamanic course is a foundation for living the ancient spiritual practices of direct revelation for transformation, and for living your life in power and unity. Each designated Saturday Meeting we will gather in a safe, ceremonial space for soulful learning, drum journeying, soul remembering, and creating shamanic tools. We will also meet virtually on Zoom one to two times monthly at an agreed upon evening time for teleconference and check-in, to maintain and ground our teachings into our every day life, to build community and to gain support. If for any reason you cannot meet at this agreed upon time by the group, a recording will be available.
The content of the course will include foundational Shamanic teachings, the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel, and shamanic practices for living life empowered and awakened!
Each meeting we will also make ceremonial, shamanic tools associated with the work of that month.

Plan on an all day affair, completing the circle of the Medicine Wheel with the teachings of the Center and Great Spirit. We will also review our time together and how to continue to take this work forward into our every day lives.
Instead of ceremonial art we will bring all our tools we have made and work with them. We'll deepen into some healing practices and practice upon each other.

In shamanic healing work the drum is known to bring in a powerful vibration that clears blocks in the energy bodies as well as opens the spiritual heart center. A practitioner may assist another in journeying to meet their spirit guides and totem animals for wisdom and healing, or may journey for the them. Drumming can move one out of the linear, left brain, into the frequency of peace obtained in meditation, which is also associated with the right brain.
Making your own drum in a sacred, shamanic environment helps you to get in touch with the spirit of your drum, as well as the spirit animals associated with your drum hide of choice. There is ceremonial work to connect you to the essence of your drum as a heart instrument. This ceremonial playshop infuses prayers, blessings and gratitude energies into your drum.

Connect with the spirit and essence of Tobacco in sacred ceremony and ritual. In this day of retreat, work with this sacred plant in silence, fasting and prayer. You will learn to invoke the spirt of tobacco as your ally and as a powerful shamanic tool in your everyday life for clearing, cleaning and healing. Create a sacred relationship with tobacco, learning also to call it in for protection, and for assistance in creating greater boundaries and integrity in all areas of your life.
Tobacco is a sacred plant used by many indigenous peoples around the world. The tobacco we will work with is from the jungles of Peru. It is pure nicotine rustica, and is used by Peruvian shamans for clearing low frequency energies, such as trauma, unpleasant fear patterns and emotions. It is also used for protection and greatly assists sensitive, empathic people when used consciously as an ally, through prayer and with intention.
This is a one-day prayerful diet with tobacco, with an opportunity to get to know it better as a spirit ally and powerful healing tool. You learn to smoke it prayerfully and do not inhale the smoke. You can also opt in to pray with it as an ally and not smoke it, as the relationship is not dependent on smoking it, but on how you honor it and call it in as a spirit ally.

Katherine Skaggs, Shamanic Practitioner
Katherine Skaggs is a shamanic practitioner who has trained extensively since 2007 with the Shipibo shamanic traditions from the Amazon jungles of Peru. In her apprenticeship she has dieted with various plants from the jungle that assist energetically, spiritually and physically. The first plant to diet with is Tobacco. The Spirit of Tobacco is a masculine energy and a fire medicine.
"To get to know this plant, the shamans create a fresh pressed drink out the the leaves of the tobacco plant. Each day the shamans pray into the plant drink with prayers for the medicine to assist us, and for us to become allies with it and its powers. They would also put prayers into three mapacchos for us to work with each day. A mapaccho looks like a cigarette, but is not, as it is pure tobacco and only meant for prayerful use. Then we would pray into our tobacco drink (or whatever plant we were working with), and drink it down. We would then rest, fast, pray and dream during the day. We began at dawn and were in ceremony until 3pm. Then we could break our fast. We did this for 7 days, as that is the minimum time for the sacred relationship to be created, and for the plant to lay its energy matrix into our field."
Tobacco is sacred and not meant to be used mindlessly. It knows your prayers and will go to work for you if you hold it in its sacredness. And if you disrespect it, it will kill you!

Join in sacred circle in the Shamanic Healing Circle for cleaning and clearing your mind, body and spirit. Fill up with positive energy and raise your vibration to assist you in navigating these times of conflict, revolution and transformation.
This is a gathering for sacred ceremony of blessing and healing within the Shamanic Healing Circle. As you enter into this evening, you will be cleared with sacred tobacco and agua de florida water. We will then open a medicine wheel circle in ceremonial style, honoring our allies and the directions, calling in support and protection, creating a safe and sacred space for the evening. Short shamanic clearings/healings and blessings will be offered individually within the group setting.
If weather permits we may also have a fire ceremony as part of the healing circle.
The collective group setting and individual clearings assist in clearing patterns of limitation, and opening to the wholeness of each individual, supporting self empowerment and wellness on mental, emotional, spiritual and physical levels. This also supports one to better navigate their lives in balance and personal power.
Shamanism and shamanic energy healing is known to be as old as 50,000 years according to modern day archeology. Katherine Skaggs has trained internationally with Amazonian Shipibo Indian shamans from the jungles of Peru, the Q'ero from the Andes of Peru and the Huichols from Mexico, in addition to multi-cultural shamanic teachers within the U.S. The practices offered within this ceremonial circle are handed down from these traditions and offered with the intention of personal and community healing and blessing.
